Dear Guests, Welcome to my blog which I treat like a creative garden where I regularly plant and change this and that be it poetry, philosophy, an Oboe Brilliance lesson, an essay of some kind, or a journal about composing. Visit every Monday for oboe coaching which is also helpful for many melodic instrumentalists. Musically yours, Kathryn

"How do you compose?" That is the most commonly asked question I hear.
This blog is a window into my creative process and philosophies as a composer and instrumentalist. At times it may contain music, photos, and poetry as well. May you enjoy, return, and benefit!

avant-garde electronic sounds sculptures

Dear Guests,

My two latest avant-garde electronic sounds sculptures are now for sale and they are a branch of my "In adoration of the earth series".

The avant-garde electronic sounds sculptures branch does not glorify or celebrate how gorgeous the earth and the life here is like the acoustic manuscripts I compose, instead, it is a technological outcry of dissonance regarding the atrocious, insane, destructive human behavior out of balance wrecking havoc, but all however, created with a sincere love of humanity and our precious earth.

"Train to ouchwitch" uses rhythm and sounds depicting the unconscious or callous cooperation of the masses participating in our childish, poisonous, technological behavior towards our demise with obvious disgusting echoes of genocide with fascination/hypnotism of technology. I use the word ouchwitch because the wisdom we have of the elements is being used to harm all earthlings instead of honor one another and our planet. It is also of course, a play on words reminding us of unbearable genocide practices with the undercurrent of childish technological fascination of this sophomoric and myopic dance with our disastrous knowledge of earth power.

"Flee the Slaughterhouse" represents the growing consciousness towards the unacceptable practices of how the industrial age has produced animal farming, meat processing, and human shepherding practices to our demise. It is an expression of the growing awareness, and struggle towards freedom of this insanity.

If you appreciate dissonance and cutting edge art, you might appreciate this.

Musically yours,
Kathryn
