Dear Guests, Welcome to my blog which I treat like a creative garden where I regularly plant and change this and that be it poetry, philosophy, an Oboe Brilliance lesson, an essay of some kind, or a journal about composing. Visit every Monday for oboe coaching which is also helpful for many melodic instrumentalists. Musically yours, Kathryn

"How do you compose?" That is the most commonly asked question I hear.
This blog is a window into my creative process and philosophies as a composer and instrumentalist. At times it may contain music, photos, and poetry as well. May you enjoy, return, and benefit!

poetic revisions

Dear Guests,

Although I may be a professional composer with always more to learn, I am still an unprofessional poet and devout student of poetry. Here in my blog, I share my passionate creative process/progress with poetry. Poetry is a type of miracle grow to nurish my composing and I aspire to create a book of poetry at a high level worthy of paper some day! Below are poems I've listed previously in my blog and have just begun revising thanks to the very generous coaching of an outstanding poet and poet critic Diana Manister. I have SO much more to learn. I love this and hope my sharing is inspiring to others to roll up your sleeves and write/read more poetry.

Musically yours,

Kathryn

In Memory

bark collects water
nesting in shadows

Autumn returns

How shall I recall

syrup's deepest taste
or kisses of sun?

Aeon

shadows deepening
folding gray
fog laden hair
blanket light

lifting echoes
draping linen
wings floating
swirling night
